Turn-key new building distribution centre
Commissioned by SEGRO, Hercuton is building a sustainable distribution centre next to Schiphol Airport on the A4 and A5 motorways, near the De Hoek interchange: SEGRO Park Amsterdam Airport (SPAA). This is the first step in the realisation of an entirely new park with sustainable distribution facilities. SEGRO is an investor and developer of logistics and industrial real estate. Hercuton delivers this sustainable distribution centre turn-key.
The project consists of three phases:
Phase 1 LC-1 : 11,164 m²
Phase 2 LU 1 to 6 : units from 1,500 m², in total 11,600 m²
Phase 3 LC-2 & 3 : 17,134 m²
The first two phases have now been completed, both with the BREEAM Excellent certificate. Phase 3 also has the BREEAM Excellent sustainability ambition. For SEGRO, phase 1 was the first development under its own direction in the Netherlands to receive the BREEAM Excellent certificate. This was made possible by the energy-efficient design of the buildings. For example, solar panels will be placed on the roofs and the buildings will be fitted with heat and cold storage (a method of storing energy in the form of heat or cold in the ground). This is used to heat or cool the distribution centre.
High quality
SEGRO has been established in the Schiphol region for quite some time now and wants to continue to grow here in the coming years. There continues to be a continuing demand from companies to locate near Schiphol. With the SPAA, SEGRO offers an optimal location in terms of infrastructure in combination with a high-quality, modern and sustainable building that is ready for a long future.
Phase 1 comprises the first 10% of the total park. The rest of the buildings will be built in phases over the coming years. In the near future this park will combine large-scale logistics facilities of 10,000 m2 to 30,000 m2 with smaller units between 1,500 and 10,000 m². This makes it interesting for a variety of customers with varying activities and related space requirements.
Collaboration
In this project we are working closely together with our sister company Remco Ruimtebouw. The design comes from MIES in Ede. The construction supervision is provided by RPS from Delft.
