Turn-key realization
At DistriPark Dordrecht along the A16 freeway, Hercuton has completed a new distribution center for Crocs Europe BV. This development has been brought about by Over Engh Vastgoed and purchased by WDP Nederland. With a surface area of approx. 50,000 m², this is the largest Crocs distribution center in Europe.
The well-known producer of shoes, sandals and clogs will use the new location partly for storage for the web store, but also for supplying store branches and handling returns. Hercuton delivered the new logistics center on a turnkey basis.
All-electric
The new building was built using sustainable materials such as prefab concrete and wood. The distribution center has been awarded the sustainability label BREEAM Very Good. It is a completely gasless (all-electric) building. Laminated wooden beams ensure that the distribution center has a friendly appearance. The location also plays a major role in the sustainability ambition. Distripark Dordrecht is a natural gas-free business park with a basic energy infrastructure consisting of an electricity grid that makes 100% energy-neutral business practices realistic. The site offers a hydrogen facility point, four wind turbines and a solar park.
Reference
Crocs has chosen a high quality building. The distribution center previously realized by Hercuton for Boon Food Group (32,000 m²) on the Dordtse Kil III business park was the reference for this.
The development was partly realized in cooperation with M² Real Estate, Gemeente Dordrecht, Distripark Dordrecht and Crocs.
